Online Shopping Delight: Goat Milk Stuff

February 09, 2012  /  Wendy Terrien

There is a delightful little family-owned business called Goat Milk Stuff. Guess what they do? They make stuff out of goat’s milk.  I recently read about them in Oprah Magazineand decided to check out their website.

The Goat Milk Stuff website is great – easy to use, excellent descriptions of their products, even some videos. I read about the Jonas family and their eight kids and learned that everyone has a job. It’s sweet, it’s fun, it’s a nice little success story where a hobby morphed into a hopping business.

Then I decided to place an order and this is where things got really good. After my order was complete, a video popped up from PJ, the mom of the Jonas family. She thanked me most sincerely for placing my order and promised me it would ship out asap. Then the video goes on to introduce everyone else in the family and share their role in the business. Adorable. So adorable, in fact, that I decided to watch a couple more videos. They are friendly and sincere and entertaining, not to mention the fact that I learned how to milk a goat.

My order arrived yesterday (it was shipped the same day I placed my order) and everything smells soooooooo good. Best of all? My shipping invoice was signed by two of the kids, Fletcher and Brett.Adorable!

Does this small family business need my endorsement? No. As I mentioned, they already have Oprah Magazine and there’s also a video on their site from an appearance on the Today Show. But I’m inclined to post this note anyway because this has been one of the most fun online shopping experiences I’ve had (and I’ve done plenty-o-online shopping…). I had to share.

Work hard. Get dirty. Use good soap.    Nice work, Jonas family!  I’ll be shopping with you again.
